WINTER PARKING ENFORCEMENT
No vehicle may park on any street any night between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. when there is a snow event.
A "snow event" means either 1) the accumulation of snow is such that snowplows are used to clear the snow, or 2) a snow emergency is declared. All vehicles must be removed from public streets and alleys from the starting time of the snow event until the streets or alleys have been cleared curb-to-curb or edge-to-edge of pavement during a snow event.
If any vehicle is parked on the roadway, the police department will place a parking ticket on the vehicle and may order the vehicle towed from the street at the owner's expense. Each parking violation is $30.00 for the first 72 hours. After 72 hours, you will incur additional fees and penalties.

Parking permits are available at City Hall for municipal parking lots.
The cost is $10 for one month, $20 for two months, and $30 for four months.

Chapter 397-7 Parking Restrictions
For those residents who require parking, there are several city lots available throughout the downtown area with parking stalls. Parking Permits are required in the City Lots.
West Main
The west main parking lot is located behind the 100 block of South Main Street. This lot, which is behind the NAPA Auto parts store has 32 parking stalls.
East Main
The east main parking lot is located by the upper dam behind the American Legion building. The east main lot are 30 parking stalls available.
East Bridge Street
Located just across the river by Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, the lot has 10 parking stalls available.
City Hall Lot
Located in front of City Hall, this lot provides 11 parking stalls.
Library Lot
Located directly behind the Mayville Library, this lot has 28 parking stalls available.

Need a Permit?
Permits are available for city lots and can be purchased at City Hall.
One (1) Month - $10.00
Two (2) Months - $20.00
Four (4) Months - $30.00
Need overnight Permission?
Permission may be given to park a vehicle on the street overnight under certain circumstances. Permission will only be granted for up to three nights.
Snow Emergencies
There will be no overnight parking permission granted during snow emergencies. Vehicles in violation may be towed.
