Neighborhood Watch
A Neighborhood Watch program is a group of people living in the same area who want to make their neighborhood safer by working together and in conjunction with local law enforcement to reduce crime and improve their quality of life.
Neighborhood Watch was started more than 30 years ago as a way for citizens to help law enforcement protect neighborhoods. It is one of the oldest and best-known crime prevention concepts in North America.
After 9/11, Neighborhood watch was revitalized and in 2002, USAonWatch was launched with expanded roles in disaster preparedness, emergency response and terrorism awareness.
